This is a transformative group exhibition marking the journey of our first cohort of 24 Ukrainian displaced artists. Since 2022, these individuals have faced the dual challenge of processing profound trauma and rebuilding their creative practices in the wake of displacement. This exhibition celebrates their resilience and artistic evolution offering an opportunity to those, that until now, may not have had the chance to be seen and heard.

What does it mean to pack your entire life into a single suitcase? Portable Dreams Exhibition invited viewers to step into the reality of displaced artists who fled war, carrying not just their belongings, but fragments of their identity and creative spirit. Through powerful artworks that complemented the Abandoned Artists launch this exhibition challenged to rethink what it means to start over. What would you take if you had to escape?


Beyond our Depth

Beyond Our Depth was a very special collaborative art project supported by National Galleries of Scotland, Art in Healthcare and The Welcoming that involved a group of displaced participants from countries such as Ukraine, Syria, and Hong Kong. The project revealed an enormous amount of trauma over the 8-week journey applying a material experimentation approach focusing on the power of the creative process.
